I squeeze the toothpaste tube from the top and break down words and syllables by counting them on my fingertips.

I like fresh figs, the color brown, winter (no, really I do!), a freshly made bed, and maple flavored anything.

I hate olives.

Breakher Designs

And speaking of Salt City Craft Mart- this woman will be there...

And speaking of Salt City Craft Mart- this woman will be there selling these very clever paper mache animal heads. I love the ram one! I could totally picture this above my fireplace.

Disregard the camera phone quality but these are my new mini...

Disregard the camera phone quality but these are my new mini cards! I had to get something printed up for this weekend’s Syracuse Salt City Craft Mart. Especially considering I don’t recall ever having a finalized version of a business card? (Which admittedly is embarrassing considering my profession).

You have to start somewhere.....

…….even if that somewhere is merely just starting over.

Seems like such a deep philosophical, slightly dramatic first post but I don’t see it as such. I see it as very simple statement and rather fitting for a new beginning. My beginning.

For years I had a website that I did nothing with. I hastily put one together with a few examples of my work because I was working on a high profile (if you can consider a small town high profile) project. A project that would be visible to many. I figured it a good move to “really get my name out there”. And it was, dont get me wrong but then I never bothered even with the most basic of upkeep.

Having been of the design class where we were asked to specialize between print or web, I chose print. I did take a few interactive media classes in college but I never enjoyed it and I always struggled with the script and computer jargon part.

And so my old website sat and sat and sat, collecting CSS dust.

When the opportunity presented itself to switch servers and hosts and whoever it was who had my domain name I really did try again with the whole ‘design a website’ sort of thing. Without the knowledge or patience for web design (or the pockets) I decided to approach my website as something more interactive. Something more informative. And something more easily manageable and update-able.

Enter: “The Blog”.

I don’t regularly follow any one blog in particular but I do read various ones now and again. I always enjoyed the blog’s interface and really felt this was a good compromise for me and where I wanted to go with not only showing my own work and processes, but day to day inspirations and happenings as well.

Enter: “My Tumblr”

Because I truly am starting over, this space is sparse in content and examples of my work. But I hope you’ll stay tuned for future and fairly regular postings!
